According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Arthur Melo will prefer to join Barcelona if he leaves Juventus in the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old midfielder is also a target for Arsenal and AS Monaco, with the Bianconeri keen on cashing in on him ahead of the 2022/23 season. Arthur Melo joined Juventus from Barcelona nearly two years ago, with Miralem Pjanic moving to Camp Nou in a separate deal, as the two clubs agreed to swap the midfielders. But the transfers have not panned out as envisioned for any of the four parties involved, with the players struggling to make their mark and the European heavyweights desperate to offload them.

The Brazilian international endured a forgettable 2021/22 season as he started only 16 of the 52 games that Juventus played, dropping down the pecking order for midfielders. And the Serie A giants are keen on selling Arthur this summer, with Arsenal hot on his heels. But the player will prefer to join Barcelona instead of any other suitor. It looks like both English Premier League clubs Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur will have to look elsewhere in their search for a top central defender, with reports claiming that their reported target, Ryan Gravenberch. The towering defender has been linked with a move to several clubs from the start of last season, but clubs have not been given the green light by Ajax to start negotiations for his possible signing. Mundo Deportivo believe Barcelona tried to sign the Netherlands international when he was just 15, and they still admire him to this day.

Liverpool were rumored to have attempted to open negotiations for Gravenberch last summer, but it looked as though the transfer fee and the wage demands were a problem for the Reds, as they refused to bend to those demands. It is no longer news that Barca is in the market for a new striker. The sad decision by Sergio Aguero to retire as a result of a heart condition has left Barca scratching their heads. Luuk De Jong is currently the only senior striker that’s currently fit. Martin Braithwaite is currently recovering from surgery, and should still be out for a few weeks.

Though players like teen sensation Fati and Netherlands international Depay can play that role, Barca does need a reliable striker.
