BARCA BOSS KOEMAN GIVES UPDATE ON RIQUI PUIG’S FUTURE

Barcelona superstar Riqui Puig has sparked a host of transfer rumours after being linked to so many clubs across Europe having been in fine form for his club so far this season. Premier League side Leeds United are one of the many clubs to have been interested in the young prolific star as they have been looking to make some key upgrades in the team, especially in the midfield area.

Marcel Bielsa has identified Puig as one of the very smart business deals out there talking about creative midfielders he could sign for Leeds. Two other names that were drawn up for a possible transfer to Leeds are Udinese superstar Rodrigo De Paul, as well as creative midfield genius Michael Cuisance right before he decided to move to French outfit Marseille instead.

So, Puig is Bielsa’s current and only midfield addition option, but he wishes to sign the young man on loan. The Barcelona star could get fancy the move to England given how he has been sidelined to just a few games for Barcelona this season and is hungry to play more games.

He has so far not started any La Liga or Champions League game so far this season, and he believes he is good enough to be starting games already. Across the five appearances he has made under Koeman so far this season, which have all been substitute appearances, he has been able to play for just 96 minutes. A situation that will most likely change should he move to Leeds United anytime soon.

When asked about the situation, Koeman said he holds nothing at all against Puig and the fact that he has not featured in more games this season has been down majorly to tactics and nothing else. Koeman added my indicating that there is only one person that can decide Puig’s future and its only the player himself.
