Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly getting ready to offer a couple of players at the club contract renewals, according to MARCA. The club will move to handpick a couple of young players and hand them new deals to tie them to new contracts in the next couple of years as they plan for the future. The players that are said to be on the list of those who will extend their contracts include Ousmane Dembele, Oscar Mingueza, and Ilaix Moriba.
French forward Dembele’s current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2022 and the club know that they must either agree to sell him this summer or trigger an extension in his contract. A decision to sell the former Borussia Dortmund winger will prove to be no good business for Barca, who will be unable to recoup a sensible amount close to the £150 million they paid to the German club for his acquisition some years ago.
A few weeks ago, it would have been hard to think that Barca would be prioritizing a contract renewal for Dembele but after a couple of good games under Ronald Koeman, it is only expected that the club deem it fit to reward him with a contract extension. Ilaix will reportedly ignore the possibility of a transfer elsewhere and sign a new contract at Barca, and the same thing applies to Mingueza.
