Charlie Adam: Mohamed Salah Wouldn’t Get Into The Barcelona Or Real Madrid Team

Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam does not believe Mohamed Salah would get a game, should he join one of Barcelona or Real Madrid in the future. The Egypt international has been in sensational form for Liverpool this season with 37 goals across all competitions, and he recently equalled a record shared by Cristiano Ronaldo and Robin van Persie.

During the Reds’ 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, Salah managed to score his 29th goal of the Premier League campaign, and as a result, he became only the third player to score 21 top-flight matches. Despite this, former Reds midfielder Adam does not believe he would enjoy a similar run with two of Spain’s heavyweights, he told TalkSPORT: “Where’s he going to go? It’s difficult for him, where does he go? Will he get a game at Real Madrid? Will he get a game at Barcelona? I don’t think he would. I think he will stay there.”

Regardless of Adam’s comments, Real Madrid and Barcelona are not said to be actively pursuing the former AS Roma man and the same goes to Salah, who recently stressed that he is leaving the dream of playing in the Premier League. The 25-year-old could not establish himself during his initial stint with Chelsea, but he is pleased to have got the opportunity with the Reds, who tried to pursue his signature prior to the Blues.

Salah is currently on 37 goals for the campaign, and this sees them tied with Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo whilst holding a two-goal advantage over Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi. Apparently, the Reds are aware of the ongoing speculation linking Salah with a summer move elsewhere, and talks are already said to be underway to commit the attacker to a new bumper contract. The Egyptian has taken up the role of the main orchestrator from Philippe Coutinho, who left for Barcelona during the winter transfer window.
