He was one of Utd’s best performers and did much, much better than in 2009. The stick he gets is so unjustified. People need to realise what @99999999 says, we played Barcelona, a better than we’re ever likely to see at Man Utd for years and years. Xavi and Iniesta are two fantastic players, they are a nightmare to come up against. How do you stop Xavi’s passes and Iniesta’s dribbling and intelligent movement?
But yeah just blame Carrick like you always do. So annoying hearing fans slate him.

I love this vid, by taking his performance totally out of context and only showing the few 5 yard completed passes he makes it shows he was excellent in this match. Ignore all his ‘shitting himself’ shuffles and passes straight to opponents. He was cack like he is in nearly every game. Played well 3 times in a season! (Chelsea x2 & Schalke who were useless)
Show us against City or last year vs Bayern or Barca 2009.

carrick got bossed WHAT do you guys expect up against XAVI and INIESTA on his own do you guys want him to perform a miracle or something he had GIGGS nxt 2 him aged 37 does not fit the bill for a FINAL noo way no disrespect to giggsy a ICON an inspiration at that michael needed someone like fletcher, hargreaves sort of player then it would have been a closer game imo

Play going back the other way, the time where teams push up for the offside trap and Carrick plays a beautiful first-time pass back where the opposition don’t want it. You’ll see him doing this after corners have been headed out a lot. Honestly he’s one of the very best in the world at executing these passes.

I’m sorry but if you’re saying Carrick played poor then you’re blind, sure he didn’t play amazing like he did against Chelsea and Schalke but hey he didn’t play awful and this video proves it, he played some brilliant passes in that game but was overshadowed by Xavi and Iniesta because Carrick wasn’t getting enough space to play as freely as he usually does which is a pity, he played some brilliant passes to Hernandez but he was offside everytime making runs too soon, we got outplayed though 🙁
